Abstract:
The paper is concerned with a second-moment closure for the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations which relies on the anisotropy invariant theory. It is shown how the anisotropy invariant map can be used to derive reasonable closure assumptions for turbulent flows. Furthermore, a first highly encouraging application for an inhomogeneous flow is discussed.
