dc.description.abstract | The modulation instability (MI) of partially incoherent light beams and pattern formation in incoherent wave systems was discussed. Several features that have no counterpart in coherent wave systems was revealed by MI in nonlinear incoherent environments. It was found that the ability to suppress MI has led to new families of solitons that have no counterpart in the coherent regime. | - |
