Count time series are discretevalued time series having a quantitative range consisting of nonnegative integers. In addition to standard methods from realvalued time series analysis, several tailormade approaches have been developed for analyzing these time series, including tools for checking model adequacy and techniques for coherent forecasting. Models for realvalued time series cannot be used for count time series; classes of models for these discrete data are briefly surveyed.
