Abstract
This paper proposes a norm-oriented framework for assessing voltage quality and system stability in maritime low-voltage DC power systems. Existing standards cannot be directly applied due to maritime conditions such as long cable routes, electromagnetic interference, and extensive power-electronic conversion. The framework defines measurement and evaluation windows for ripple, voltage dips and rises, transient events, voltage slew rates, and impedance-based stability. A case study based on an experimental subsystem demonstrates deviations from industrial LVDC behaviour in ripple levels, transient gradients, and recovery dynamics. The results highlight the influence of line impedance and system structure and derive requirements for filtering, capacitance sizing, and control design. The framework provides a consistent basis for maritime-specific assessment and supports the development of adapted standards.
