Abstract
In the case that collecting samples with size is often not possible or sometimes not appropriate, the control chart user applies typically individual‐moving range (IMR) schemes. Here we report new results on their monitoring performance in terms of the average run length (ARL). Deploying these numerical algorithms, the IMR chart could be appropriately set up. Finally, the usefulness of adding the MR subchart is (re‐)evaluated.
